DISCOVER OUR STORY →Three interconnected priorities guide how STCOA approaches this work and collaborates with families and partners.
01Help families identify appropriate community services, benefits, and referral pathways.
02Create opportunities for caregivers to ask questions, share concerns and connect with community support.
03Provide culturally responsive outreach and information that helps families stay connected.
Community-centered service begins with listening, respect and the belief that cultural identity is a source of strength.

Every family’s situation is different. STCOA aims to help families identify relevant pathways without promising services or eligibility that have not been confirmed.
Families may face challenges related to employment, parenting, transportation, school, housing and access to services. STCOA’s family support focus offers a culturally welcoming place to begin exploring options.
01A family-centered approach recognizes that caregivers and extended relatives can be important sources of strength. It also recognizes that each household has its own goals, resources and circumstances.
02Resource navigation may include identifying relevant agencies, understanding application steps, locating youth or caregiver supports and learning how to request referrals. The goal is to make next steps clearer rather than promise an outcome that depends on another provider.
03Cultural connection can reduce isolation. Opportunities for family participation, elder engagement and community gatherings can complement practical resource navigation and encourage stronger relationships.
04Some families may need specialized clinical, legal or emergency assistance. STCOA can discuss possible referral pathways but should not be treated as a replacement for licensed providers or emergency services.
05To begin, describe the type of support you need and the best way to reach you. Ask the team to confirm which services and referral arrangements are currently operating.
